Busy, Busy, Busy

Have you ever had one of those crazy weeks and weekends where you do so much stuff and are super relieved when it is done? That was my past week and weekend.

Friday was my daughter's first birthday. It was such a bittersweet day whisking my baby into toddlerhood. I love watching her grow and I am super blessed that I get to stay home with her, but she is my little baby that I rocked to sleep for the first 6 weeks, have been nursing since day one and changed her teeny-tiny newborn diapers. I have been crying on and off for a week. But growth is always a good thing. {I need to remind myself of that}

Then, her party. This party was a HUGE event. Most of our families had never met our daughter so we invited EVERYONE. (Un)Fortunately, almost half couldn't come due to the time of year and other events - so it was much smaller than we originally anticipated.

There were tons of moments of stress, joy, activity and love. Today, there is lots of muscle pain, exhaustion and cleanup. All in all, it was a beautiful day.

I am looking forward to a blog series about planning for a party and what to do and not to do {now from experience} in January.

So tomorrow, I flip the switch in my brain to focus on Christmas. So be sure to look forward to more Christmas themed posts to come!

Just a sneak peek into the party. Can you guess the theme??

Thanks for sticking with me everyone on these light weeks! See you soon!
