Operation: Project Organization - Month 2 Paperwork

We made it through month 1 of our challenge, organizing our craft rooms. It was a lot of fun and a ton of work, but when we look at our craft areas all organized and pretty, it makes it all worth it. Now on to month 2!
Operation: Project Organization - Month 2 - Paperwork | Managing a Home
This month, we are focusing on paperwork. This includes {but not limited to}:
  • Filing
  • Finances
  • Mail
  • Photos
  • Home Management Binders
  • Grocery Lists
  • Family Calenders
Stephanie's Goals for Month 2

I thought when I saw this challenge for the first time, that it would be a breeze to do this month! Well, I am sorely mistaken. While prepping for this challenge, I really started looking around at my home realizing that there are so many "paperwork" areas we really need help with. My goals to accomplish for the month are:
  • Filing Cabinet - I set up a system 2 years ago that was working for a while. But now when you look in our filing cabinet, it is so hard to actually see what you need. It is time for an overhaul

  • Receipt & Mail corralling - This is super difficult for my family of 2 and 1/2 and I'm not sure why. When we purchase things, I need a way to collect the receipts so that I can categorize them in our budgeting system {more on that this month too :)}. I also don't get much mail, so I only collect it once a week. But it is so hard to find a way to make sure that everything doesn't end up on my desk in the basement, but goes where it needs to go.
  • Photos - we have so many photos that we just complied together in Google Drive, but we are already almost to our limit! We have tons of duplicates and about 125,678 photos from the first 10 minutes of our daughter's life. I think we can narrow that down...I think.
  • Grocery List/Pantry Items - This would help out tremendously with our budgeting and meal planning. I hate grocery shopping and we need to figure out a better way to communicate between my husband and I - for those last minute things and when we are out!
Hope you're not adding too much to your plate. We will see how much I actually get done in this short month!

Jenny's Goals for Month 2

Hey guys! For this month, I will be working on:
  • Managing our paperwork and bills.
  • Setting up a filing/bill payment system - You may not think that this is an issue or problem area for most of you. But as newlyweds of a little over a year, Marco & I have yet to come up with a joint system for sorting/filing paperwork, & bill payment as a married couple. We still do everything with our own systems - that we used when we were single - for paying bills and sorting and storing paperwork. We have 5 bank accounts between the two of us. I have my checking, my savings, he has his checking, his savings and then we have our joint checking. Needless to say, this hasn’t been working for us at all!
  • Organize for tax time - Now that we have Renovar Design (the blog & the business to sell the furniture) it is IMPERATIVE for us to be organized for tax time. We also don’t have a dedicated bank account Renovar - which we need.
  • Photos - Great job for my girlies, who will also enjoy the break this month. Yes, pictures are paperwork.
Here are some of our PILES of photos and paperwork: {the ugly truth} Photos to organize.
